Shalvey

Western residential suburb north of Mount Druitt, named after wholesale and retail butcher Patrick Shalvey who acquired several properties for grazing purposes in the area in 1906. In the 1960s and 1970s it was developed for public housing by the New South Wales Housing Commission.
