Bulkabra

Aboriginal man in colonial Sydney described in illustrations of him as the 'Chief of Botany'. He and his brother William Annan worked as whalers and sealers with Boatswain Maroot on the whaling brig the Mercury in the 1820s. His name is also written as Bolgobrough or Bulgabra.

Aboriginal woman of the Kissing Point people in the early 19th century. She was thought to be about 20 in 1817. Sally was the wife of Bidgee Bidgee and may have been a relative of Bundle.

Bundle

Aboriginal man who was an elder of the Cowpastures people. As a child he was orphaned soon after the colony was established and is often referred to in early records as 'Young Bundle'. Over four decades he travelled extensively as a guide to coastal explorers, often assisting as interpreter. He also worked as a tracker and native constable. His name was also written in English records as Bondel, Bundil, Bundell. Bon-del, Bundal,or Burreach.

Bungarribee

Western residential suburb named after the property granted to John Campbell in the 1820s. Built on land used by the Overseas Telecommunications Commission from 1949 to the early 1990s, it was designated as a suburb in 2011.

Author of the first novel printed and published in Sydney. Anna Maria Bunn (1808–1889) was the anonymous author of The Guardian: a Tale (by an Australian) (1838) the first novel published on mainland Australia and the first in the continent by a woman. Bunn’s authorship was only established after an historian found a copy of the book in which her son had noted his mother’s authorship
