Waterloo Town Hall

Designed and constructed to be the centre of municipal administration in an area with a fiercely independent local identity, the Victorian Italianate building was the winner in a design competition in 1880 for architect Edward Hughes. Now used as a library it also has one of the few remaining air raid shelters built during World War II.
