Catherine Wardrop has been a scientific botanical illustrator at the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney since 1998. An early obsession with drawing initially led Catherine to obtain a Bachelor of Visual Arts degree in Printmaking, which was then complemented by a Postgraduate Diploma in Art (Plant and Wildlife Illustration). Following a series of Highly Commended Awards and then First Prize in the Margaret Flockton Award in 2006, Catherine is now co-curator of the annual international award that actively promotes and rewards talented contemporary scientific illustrators worldwide
