Fatal rail accident that occurred near Brooklyn on the Hawkesbury River on 6 May 1990. A City Rail interurban train crashed into the rear of special steam train, the 3801 Limited, which was returning from the Morpeth Jazz Festival and had been having trouble climbing the steep railway line, known as the Cowan Bank, from the river to Cowan. Six people were killed.
