An iconic and patriotic poem about Australia. The poem was first published in The Spectator in London under the title Core of My Heart. It is the second stanza which begins 'I Love a sunburnt country/ A land of sweeping plains,/ Of ragged mountain ranges,/ Of droughts and flooding rains' that is best known.
