Commemorative plaque that was installed on the site of the colony's first execution as part of the Sydney Green Plaques Bicentennial project in 1985. The text on the plaque read 'Thomas Barrett, a First Fleet convict, was hanged near this place on 27 February 1788 for stealing provisions and was buried nearby'
