(The dedication on the first edition of this map read 'To the Right Worshipful the Mayor, Aldermen, Councillors & Citizens this Map of the City of Sydney is most respectfully dedicated by their obed.t humble serv.t Will.m Henry Wells, Land Surveyor' This is a reissued, hand coloured version of the map with William Baker's name substituted in ink in the publisher statement and dedication. It was probably done in 1844 as that was the year Tegg and Wells became insolvent) (Mitchell Library )
