Mrs Marjorie Gough mourns loss of the old All Saints' Church building in Liverpool after it was demolished in 1971, interviewed in 1986

Mrs Marjorie Gough was born in 1908 and came to Liverpool in 1927 when she married. In her interview in 1986 for the 'Looking Back at Liverpool: An Oral History of the Liverpool Region 1900 to 1960,' project she mourned the loss of Liverpool's old All Saints' Church because of its strong connection with the milestones of her family's life.

MARJORIE: That was one sad part, when they pulled down All Saints' Church because it was an old church and my husband, he was baptised there, and made his communion there; and all the boys, the five of them, they were all baptised there and then the three [two boys died in infancy] made their First Communion there. They were all married in All Saints' Church; and all their children were baptised in the All Saints Church and they all made their communion. But of course, I've only got one [grandchild] married; the church in the meantime had been pulled down so she was married in the new church there.
