Politician who served as the Member for Newtown from 1944 until 1950. She was the first female alderman in New South Wales and the first female Mayor in Australia, at Newtown Council from 1938 until 1939.

Newtown Council

Local government body which administered the municipality of Newtown, from its formation in 1862 until it was amalgamated into the City of Sydney in 1948.
