Ashworth, Henry Ingham

Architect, academic and soldier who served as a Lieutenant-Colonel in India and Burma before coming to Sydney to fill the role of University of Sydney's Chair of Architectural Design and History, later becoming dean of the faculty. He was a strong advocate for Jorn Utzon's design for the Sydney Opera House, and said: 'It is a building which will have to stand for quite a number of years and it is the sort of design which will be appreciated in the future'.
