Barlow, Billie
English burlesque actress who performed in musicals and pantomimes while touring the world. She visited Australia several times over the course of her career. She sued The Bulletin in 1901 for suggesting the costume she wore as principal boy in the pantomime Puss in Boots, performed at the Tivoli, was indecent. The jury and judge visited the theatre to see it for themselves, but found for the defendant.
