Hawkins, Henry Storry
Magistrate and coroner. Hawkins was was appointed to the position of acting Sydney City Coroner in Sydney before being officially appointed to the position in March 1911. He was appointed to the position of Special Magistrate of the Children’s Court in 1919, sharing his position of Sydney City Coroner with John Jamieson, before being reassigned to the Stipendiary Bench in 1920. In conjunction with other magistrates, Hawkins wrote several law books and legislation, including The Coroner’s Manual, and the Deserted Wives and Children’s Act.
