McNeill, Albert John
Clerk who enlisted as a sapper in the 14th Field Company Engineers, arriving in Tel-el-Kebir, Egypt before being sent to Marseilles, France in June 1916. While in Etaples, he was admitted to hospital for bronchitis, possibly contracted during a gas attack. After recuperating and training in England, he proceeded to Rouelles, France and then Belgium. In April 1918 he spent time in hospital in France with a sprained left ankle and was punished in August and September for absence without leave.
