Last year the Dictionary of Sydney was successful in securing a small grant from the Australian National Maritime Museum through the Maritime Museums of Australia Project Support Scheme to produce new content on the First Fleet. The new entries include a thematic essay by Professor Gary Sturgess, along with ten ship profiles by Nicole Cama, Penny Edwell, Michaela Cameron and David Morgan: These entries join our existing entry by Garry Wotherspoon: We are grateful to the Australian National Maritime Museum for their assistance in increasing our coverage of the First Fleet. Thank you to our authors, contributors, and editor Emma Grahame.
