New South Wales Migration Heritage Centre
The NSW Migration Heritage Centre is a virtual immigration museum which identifies, records, preserves and interprets the heritage of migration and settlement in New South Wales from 1788 to the present.
Its research program is almost completely decentralised outside of the city of Sydney and produced in partnership with Local Government and community organisations across Western Sydney and rural and regional NSW. The research is showcased in joint and shared exhibitions, located at museums and libraries, where communities live across the State. The exhibitions are then centralised and made accessible to the rest of the State as online exhibition and educational resources hosted on the MHC website.
The Centre is a New South Wales Government initiative supported by the Community Relations Commission and is located at the Powerhouse Museum in Sydney.
