Macleay Museum

Oldest natural history collection in Australia, originating in the cabinets of Alexander Macleay, and expanded through the collecting networks of the Macleay family. The collection was donated to the University of Sydney by William John Macleay in the 1880s and a building constructed to house it. The Macleay Museum is now part of the University of Sydney Museums.
