Asquith

Northern suburb which combines remnant woodland with residential and industrial development. It was named in 1915 for British prime minister H.H. Asquith.

Occupying Dharug and Guringai country, Asquith's early settlement was based on timber and orcharding. Subdivision followed the construction of a railway station in 1915, and Asquith benefitted from the postwar boom in housing and industry.
