Mount Colah

Far northern residential suburb, bordered to the east by Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park. Its name of believed to come from an Aboriginal word meaning 'koala'.

Dharug and Guringai people owned this area before Europeans came. Mining and farming were early industries, but suburban development in Mount Colah came with the building of a Housing Commission estate in the 1960s.
