Foss, Ambrose

Chemist, druggist and dentist who was also an alderman and church deacon. The suburb Forest Lodge was named after the villa he had built there in the 1830s for his family, and a local street is named after him.

Qualified pharmacist who had a variety of jobs before finding success as an author who wrote under his own name as well as several noms de plume including Nino Culotta.

Pharmacist and local politician who also served as the Deputy City Coroner for Sydney until his death in 1895.

Wilson, Louisa

First woman to study Pharmacy at the University of Sydney in 1900. In 1902 Wilson became the first academically trained woman to register as a pharmacist in New South Wales and went into business in Killara. She died in 1919 during the flu epidemic.
