Stevenson, Cecil Vincent (Pa)

Electrical engineer who owned a business, Electrical Utilities, in George Street selling radio sets and electrical wares and conducted wireless transmissions from his home and shop. He founded 2EU (later 2UE) and physically built the equipment needed for its first broadcast in his Maroubra home. In his final broadcast, Stevenson said people thought he was crazy for this venture and though it was hard work to begin with, he managed to convince companies of the publicity value of radio.
