133 Macquarie Street (History House)

Terrace house on the western side of Macquarie Street that was designed by prominent architect George Allen Mansfield as a gentleman's residence for his uncle, Parrramatta politician George Oakes in 1871. In the early 1900s it was used as a boarding house, and then as medical rooms. In November 1971 it was officially opened as the second History House, the new home of the Royal Australian Historical Society.

Camden Historical Society

Historical society formed in 1957 that is instrumental in keeping history alive in the Camden district through Camden Museum and is responsible for the preservation and display of this heritage.

Bertie, Charles Henry

Librarian, historian, Australiana collector and author who was appointed as the first librarian of the Sydney Municipal Library in 1909. In 1918 he established within the Municipal Library the first public lending library for children in Australia. An active member of the Royal Australian Historical Society he wrote and spoke on many aspects of Sydney's history and amassed an impressive collection of Australian material.

Foster, Arthur George

Theodore Arthur George Foster, better known as AG Foster, was a historian. He and his wife Ethel Foster were founding members of the Royal Australian Historical Society and documented the Devonshire Street Cemetery in the early 1900s before its removal for the construction of the Central Railway station.

Foster, Ethel

Josephine Ethel Foster, better known as Ethel Foster or Mrs AG Foster, was a historian and photographer, who was one of the first members of the Royal Australian Historical Society. She and her husband, fellow historian Arthur George Foster, documented the Devonshire Street Cemetery in the early 1900s before its removal for the construction of the Central Railway station.
