Sydney Square

Open pedestrian plaza between the Town Hall and St Andrew’s Cathedral, above the Town Hall Arcade. It has also been an important rallying point for protests and demonstrations, including against Australia’s involvement in the Vietnam War and the dismissal of the Whitlam Government during the 1970s. Also referred to as Town Hall Square.
