Pinkerton, James William
Carpenter who enlisted in the 15th Reinforcement, 18th Battalion and proceeded to Etaples, France in December 1916. In May 1917 he received treatment for a gunshot wound to his right leg and was admitted to hospital again in July with venereal disease, spending 78 days in treatment. In December he was found guilty of absence without leave (AWL) and sentenced to 27 days in detention forfeiting 59 days' pay. In February 1918 he was admitted to hospital with an abscess and then in May for synovitis. He was found AWL again before he was returned to Australia.
