Circus

Circus has been part of Sydney's entertainment since the 1840s and hardly a year has passed since then without a circus in town. Sydney performers have gone on to international careers in the arena and have returned triumphant, and circus skills and acts became part of the city's thriving vaudeville and theatre scene.

Wirth's Bros Circus Ltd

Circus troupe formed by four brothers John, Harry, Philip and George Wirth in 1882. The company was incorporated in 1913 by Philip and George Wirth after they had received an inheritance from an American uncle and continued operating until 1963.
