Grand gentleman's residence at Edgecliff. The house was eventually demolished and rebuilt in the 1870s. The second house of the same name was built on the site by merchant John Marks in the 1870s.

Glenrock Estate

Vast waterfront estate purchased by Thomas Smith in 1835 at Darling Point. The estate was subdivided in 1859 to provide new home sites after the death of his son who had inherited the property.

North-western residential suburb named after 'Glenwood Park' homestead, originally known as 'Norfolk Vale' when built by James Samuel Staff in 1853. Formally recognised as a suburb in 1996, it is the site of Parklea Markets and Parklea Sikh Temple.

Two stone Georgian cottages at 120-124 Kent Street in Millers Point that were part of a group of buildings built by stonemason and former convict Thomas Glover in the 1820s. Between 1967 and 1974 the buildings were used by Fort Street High School. An addition to the back of the building was built in 1979 and the buildings restored for non-residential use.

Soldier in the AIF who was injured fighting in France during World War I. He was treated by Dr Harriett Biffin in Lindfield on his return to Australia. He had grown up in Delegate, near Monaro in regional New South Wales.

Goddard, Doris

Publican of the Hollywood Hotel in Surry Hills from 1977 until her death in 2019. Doris Goddard grew up in Glebe with her mother Essie. In 1952 she left Sydney for London in order to have an operation on a heart defect and to follow her theatrical and musical career. After a successful film, television and musical career, she returned to Sydney in 1958 to visit family and stayed, entering the hotel business with her mother. The Hollywood Hotel became an iconic destination in inner city Sydney, with a diverse and colourful clientele who were welcomed and entertained by Doris until her death at 89 in 2019.

Golden Water Mouth Tree

Sculpture created by Lin Li from a dead Yellow Box tree with 23 carat gold leaf and terracotta tile to mark the entry to the symbolic village of Chinatown. This artwork incorporates Shui Kou elements of wood, water, earth and gold together with native Australian species. It evokes memories of the Chinese arrival in Australia—the ”New Gold Mountain.
