(Asked for something different as a cabaret turn, Paula Pratt agreed to do a snake dance, faced problem of buying a snake. She went to La Perouse (near Sydney), where snake expert George Cann of Taronga Park Zoo sold her a 7ft diamond snake for 25/-. She named him Algie, trained him as her dancing partner.)
