Parry, Naomi
Dr Naomi Parry is a historian and writer who has published a range of works on child welfare history, community history and Aboriginal history. Her PhD compared the treatment of black and white children in the child welfare systems of New South Wales and Tasmania from 1880 to 1940. She has a background in museums and heritage and from 2011-2014 was the NSW historian on the Find & Connect web resource, a national digital history project to help Forgotten Australians and former Child Migrants find records about their past. In 2015 she was shortlisted for the Hazel Rowley Biography Award and received a National and State Libraries Australasian Honorary Fellowship at the State Library of NSW for her longstanding project on the life of Musquito. Since 2014 she has been coordinating the NSW Centenary of Anzac Book Project 'NSW and the Great War', which will be published in 2016.
