Criminal and thug who was a feared street fighter and standover man. In 1943, he threatened the petty thief and sly-grog seller, Iris Webber, with extortion after which she attacked him with a tomahawk. He was stabbed to death in front of 300 guests at a dance at the Waterloo Town Hall in 1965.

Hollinshed Bros

A partnership between Henry and Allen Hollinshed who operated Hollinshed's Steam Flour Mills in Kent Street South. Henry was elected to the City Council in 1842. The partnership was dissolved in 1847.

Park surrounded by grand terrace houses in northern Newtown which was originally part of William Bligh's grant of 1806. Subdivided several times between 1834 and 1892 part of the site was resumed for Kingston public school which was never built. Its origin was probably to enhance the development of the surrounding real estate by the creation of a tennis court, children's playground and recreation area for the residents, along the lines of a London square.

Council established in 1872 to administer the Prospect and Sherwood area in Sydney's west, which became Holroyd Municipality in 1927, and the City of Holroyd in 1991. It was merged with parts of Auburn and Parramatta  to form Cumberland Council in 2016.
