Cameron, Michaela Ann

Michaela Ann Cameron is a PhD candidate in the Department of History at the University of Sydney specialising in the sensory history of colonial America, specifically Indigenous auditory cultures. Additional research interests include Australia's convict history. Michaela also promotes Sydney's historical sites, museums and history-related events on her @sydneyhistory Instagram and Twitter accounts.

Neptune

Neptune, one of three ships known as the 'death fleet,' was the largest ship of the Second Fleet. Chartered by slave traders, Neptune had the highest mortality rate of all the ships, with over 160 deaths. Many of those who survived the ordeal went on to prosper in the new colony including William Baker, George Salter and Molly Morgan.

Western suburb built on the land of the Burramattagal people. Sydney's second European settlement, it began as a government farm in 1788 and has many heritage listed sites. It is now the commercial hub of Greater Western Sydney.

Dairy Cottage Parramatta

Brick cottage constructed by emancipist George Salter on his 30 acre grant. It was converted to a dairy after its purchase by Governor Macquarie c1813 and a sunken dairy processing room constructed in a pavillion beside the cottage. A cow house and barn were added as side pavillions.
