Hill, Richard
Carpenter and butcher who became a wealthy landowner both on the Liverpool Plains and in New Zealand before a career in politics. He lived in an old cottage at 43 Bent Street in the city until his death. He was interested in the welfare of Aboriginal people, and employed an Aboriginal coachman. In 1892 he published 'NNotes on the Aborigines of New South Wales : with personal reminiscences of the tribes formerly living in the neighbourhood of Sydney and the surrounding districts' with George Thornton.
